Grapevine: Eminem tops Lollapalooza
As tipped, Eminem is set to headline this year’s Lollapalooza festival, Aug. 5-7 in Chicago’s Grant Park.Em leads a 20th anniversary lineup that includes many big guns, including Coldplay , Muse , Foo Fighters , My Morning Jacket , Deadmau5 and A Perfect Circle . The Cars , which reunited last year after a nearly quarter-century break, will also perform at the fest.Detroit duo Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr . is also included on the bill, as is Ann Arbor native Mayer Hawthorne , who will perform with his outfit the County. Tickets for the fest, $215, are now on sale through lollapalooza.com.Last year’s Lolla drew around 240,000 people over the fest’s three days.Lolla is one of several fests Eminem is due for this summer. He’s also headlining Bonnaroo, as well as Montreal’s Osheaga festival and Kansas City’s inaugural Kanrocksas festival.
After a seemingly endless stream of speculation, TV news anchor Katie Couricisleaving CBS’ “Evening News,” reports CNN Tuesday. Where’s she going? Well, Couric told People magazine in the weeks leading up to the announcement, “The bottom line is that I love doing all kinds of different stories,” she said. “I have a lot of areas of interest and I want to be able to fulfill all of that.” Insightful, huh? She added that she is considering a show format that will allow her to “engage in more multidimensional storytelling.”
Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler and MTV “Laguna Beach” star Kristin Cavallari are engaged, reports People. Cutler proposed to her while they were vacating in Cabo San Lucas last weekend.
