The 46-year-old actor is being eyed for the lead role of Jean Valjean in the upcoming film adaptation of the classic Broadway musical Les Miserables.
Robert and Sean Penn are two of the many actors being considered for the role, according to reports.
Fans of the novel The Hunger Games book series are also lobbying for Robert to play the drunken mentor Haymitch in the upcoming film, already starring Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson.
